Help Nonprofits Buy Discounted Bus Passes for Homeless

Call our Representative Frank Hornstein (651-296-9281) on the Transportation Finance Conference Committee and ask him to support the Senate version of the “Discount Transit Passes Pilot Program.” It’s important! It will give nonprofits serving the homeless — like Families Moving Forward — the ability to buy discounted bus passes and tokens to pass along to their homeless “clients.” The Bill — SF732/HF809 — after consideration by the Conference Committee, will ultimately get passed back to the full House and Senate for final passage. Initially the program will start as a short Pilot Program of 10-20 agencies — and then, once it’s proved its effectiveness, it will be opened up to all nonprofits serving the homeless community. Call!
