Families Moving Forward to Build Emerson North

Families Moving Forward, of which CTK has been a cooperating church for years in hosting homeless families, is in the early stages of developing Emerson North, an affordable rental housing project at 1800 Emerson Ave. North. The project, in cooperation with its partner Plymouth Church Neighborhood Foundation, will provide 48 affordable rental homes for families — right above the FMF Day Center. Most apartments will be affordable to families earning between $20,000 and $40,000, with 12 units set aside for families served by FMF. Currently they’ve initiated a campaign to raise the $12 million needed from public and private sources to make the project a reality.
